Bafokeng Stadium and Royal Marang Hotel (http://www.africananthology.co.za/royal-marang.php)

The World Cup quality multiple sports venue is close to the farm, an easy drive on good tar roads. Make time to visit Lucky's Pub in Phokeng on the way to the big match.

Brauhaus am Dam (http://www.brauhaus.co.za)

Rustenburg's own award winning German brewery - all our beers are brewed according to the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot of 1516. The brewery has a very nice family restaurant on the premises. Getting there on tar road is easier but a little further about 45km. There is a dirt road short cut which should get you there in 25km.

Pilanesberg Nature Reserve (http://www.parksnorthwest.co.za/pilanesberg/index.html)

If you prefer to search for the Big 5, the Bakubung gate is 48 km from the farm. The reserve is a great day tripper venue, we love going with the kids. Pack a picnic basket for relaxed braai at the Fish Eagle picnic spot near Mankwe dam. Alternatively book lunch at one of the lodges.

The Kgaswane Nature Reserve in Rustenburg may not contain the Big 5 but it is an opportunity to see some of the rare and unique flora of the Magaliesberg. There are hiking routes for day visitors. (http://www.parksnorthwest.co.za/kgaswane/index.html)

Sun City Resort (http://www.suninternational.com/destinations/resorts/suncity/Pages/default.aspx)

All the glitz, glamour golf and gambling is close enough for a day trip. The upgrade of the R565 for the World Cup left us with a high quality tar road with very little traffic compared to some of the other access routes.
